MHR 2027: KOK vs OBE – Who Is Truly Fit for the House of Representatives?

Published

on

In recent months, the political atmosphere in Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency (especially Ejigbo LCDA) has been charged with intense debates, heated arguments on WhatsApp groups, and endless face-offs between two formidable camps:

  • The camp of Hon. Kehinde Bamigbetan (KOK) – former Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, ex-Commissioner for Information & Strategy, and veteran advocate.
  • The camp of Hon. Monsuru Oloyede Bello (OBE) – immediate past Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA (2017–2025), widely celebrated for massive road construction and grassroots delivery.

Supporters of both sides have flooded social media, radio programmes, and community meetings with claims and counter-claims about who has done more for Ejigbo and who is therefore more qualified to represent the constituency at the House of Representatives in 2027.

Enough of the noise. Enough of sentiments, ethnic leaning, religious bias, and personality attacks.

CivicWire.ng decided to go back to the records — stewardship reports, newspaper archives, official Lagos State documents, project commissioning records, IGR figures, and public sentiment across the years — to produce a calm, data-driven, side-by-side comparison of both leaders while they served as Executive Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA.

No camp funded this report. No one dictated the verdict. This is purely about facts, performance, delivery, and — most importantly — who possesses the skill set that best matches the demands of a federal legislator.

Below is the independent CivicWire.ng Opta-style governance scorecard you have been waiting for.

Disclaimer: This comparison is based on publicly available information from news reports, official statements, stewardship documents, and general social media sentiment up to December 2025. It is an independent, non-partisan analysis for informational purposes only and does not represent the official position of any political party, government body, or the individuals mentioned. Figures and percentages are estimates derived from multiple sources and should be treated as indicative rather than definitive.

1. Campaign Promises & Fulfilment Rate

Area KOK (2008–2014) OBE (2017–2025)
Core Promises 15-Point Agenda: LCDA → full LGA conversion for better funding, youth empowerment programs (e.g., skills training post-EndSARS), minimum 5 roads per term, revenue efficiency workshops, and strong emphasis on community inclusivity and state-LCDA synergy. Economic hub vision via annual business summits, massive road rehabilitation (100+ km targeted), IGR boost to ₦80M monthly by 2022, welfare buses for CDC/NULGE unions, youth empowerment grants, and security enhancements like neighborhood patrols.
Specificity Broad & policy-driven (e.g., advocacy for LCDA autonomy influenced state debates but not fully realized). Highly specific & project-based (e.g., pledged and delivered named vehicles and roads tied to wards like Ifoshi).
Estimated Fulfilment Rate ~70% (strong on advocacy like revenue committees; partial on mega-infrastructure due to early LCDA funding limits). ~82% (high on visible projects like roads; some delays from COVID but sustained IGR targets).
Winner OBE

2. Performance & Delivery Scorecard

Category KOK (2008–2014) OBE (2017–2025) Winner
Roads & Infrastructure ~10 major roads completed, including Ejigbo-Jakande Link Road rehabilitation (2012, easing traffic to Idimu) and foundational work on Ejigbo LCDA Secretariat (laid groundwork for upgrades); advocated for state interventions on Idimu-Ejigbo Road. Steady progress amid early LCDA teething issues, but some delays noted in 2012 reports. 100+ km of roads reconstructed, including flagship Ifoshi Road (2024, after 26 years of abandonment, commissioned by Ooni of Ife—transformed flood-prone access to Ilamose Ward); multiple 2023 rehabs like Oludegun Ailegun (Ronik) Road and Bucknor/Ijegun connectors; upgraded Ejigbo LCDA Secretariat to “Nurudeen Obe Complex” (2024, modern admin hub despite 2025 naming controversy). OBE
IGR Growth ~20% term-on-term increase through efficiency-focused revenue committees and workshops (e.g., 2012 boundary definitions with traditional rulers to reduce overlaps); no major debts, emphasized sustainable collections. Achieved and sustained ₦80M+ monthly targets by 2022 via adopted Igbogbo-Baiyeku model (independent revenue committees) and innovations like revenue uniforms; but 2025 petitions alleged over-reliance on taxes without broad input. OBE
Social Welfare & Empowerment Youth programs including pre-EndSARS poverty alleviation schemes (e.g., skills workshops for 500+ unemployed youths); community inclusivity drives like 2013 anti-brutality protests and women’s rights advocacy; syndicated Professionals and Marketers Association (PMA) for 21+ craft guilds to boost local trades. Free school uniforms distributed annually (2020–2024, reaching 5,000+ pupils); 20+ buses donated to CDC/NULGE unions (2022 fulfillment); annual excellence awards for 100+ community leaders; economic summits (2018–2020) leading to youth grants and private-sector ties; built/commissioned 2+ primary schools (e.g., Ilamose Community Primary, 2024) and multiple health centers (e.g., Jakande Estate Clinic upgrades). OBE
Crisis & Scandal Management Very clean record: Handled 2012 floods with community evacuations; resolved personal 2013 abduction peacefully without ransom escalation; no scandals, focused on stable governance during Lagos’ post-2007 growth spurt. Post-COVID recovery with sustained projects despite inflation; traffic decongestions (2023 Jakande Gate initiatives); but medium controversies including 2025 naming petitions (e.g., family-named facilities without input) and financial abuse allegations to ICPC/Sanwo-Olu. KOK
Visibility of Projects Moderate (policy wins like LCDA stability praised retrospectively; e.g., Tinubu’s 2025 tribute to “unique community interest”). Extremely high (“you can see and touch”—e.g., Ooni-commissioned roads drew statewide buzz; Reno Omokri 2024 praise for schools/health centers). OBE
Overall Executive Score 7.3 / 10 8.1 / 10 OBE

3. Public Sentiment (2020–2025 Average)

Sentiment KOK OBE
Positive Comments 70% (nostalgic, “pioneer of inclusivity”, “clean hands” and “set standards in grassroots governance”—e.g., 2025 birthday tributes from Tinubu and APC for enduring legacy). 75% (“roads brought joy”, “most performing since creation”, “emancipator”—e.g., 2024 CDC hails for Ifoshi Road; SunNews 2023 on transformative agenda).
Negative Comments 15% (old road delays like 2012 “lip-service” critiques). 20% (naming issues e.g., “without input”; 2021 pre-rehab road pains; 2025 tax/fraud complaints).
Net Approval +55% (steady & respected, low-volume but warm retrospectives). +55% (louder but slightly polarised, peaks 2023–2024 on project buzz).

CivicWire.ng Final Verdict

Role Best Fit-for-Purpose Winner Reason
Best LCDA Chairman (Executive Delivery) OBE Delivered the most visible, tangible projects in Ejigbo’s history—e.g., 100+ km roads like long-abandoned Ifoshi, new schools/health centers, and IGR surges. Unmatched on-ground impact amid economic challenges.
Best for House of Representatives (Legislative & Advocacy Role) KOK Proven policy depth (e.g., LCDA autonomy push influencing national debates), scandal-free record, communication prowess (ex-Commissioner, Echonews publisher), and advocacy skills (youth inclusivity, crisis resolution)—tailored for Abuja’s law-making and federal project attraction.

Bottom Line from CivicWire.ng Ejigbo has been blessed with two outstanding sons who complement each other perfectly:

  • If you want roads, schools, and things you can touch today → OBE is your man.
  • If you want a fearless voice in Abuja that will fight for constitutional amendments for LCDAs, attract federal budgets, and bridge grassroots to power → KOK is the perfect fit.

The community wins either way, but the job description for 2027 is House of Representatives, not LCDA Chairman.

That is why, without sentiment or bias, CivicWire.ng declares:

Hon. Kehinde Bamigbetan (KOK) is the better fit to represent Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II at the House of Representatives in 2027.

Share this report widely. Let facts, not noise, decide. — CivicWire.ng | December 2025

Very funny that we all leave the truth and begin to chase what is not truth. Kok who has the opportunity to bring good road and development that will showcase Ejigbo to a standard but choose to only grade road and built culverts that are not useful. Even the school building he named after his boss was later marked and demolished now tell me what has he done to benefit the people of the community he claimed he want to serve.

In the other hand Obe commissioned four freshly constructed road within his first hundred days in office. kolawole sebili street, radius Tijani street within fadu ward, junction to nepa bus stop in Jakande Estate within oke-afa ward, he renovates and nrc building council Secretariat at NNPC junction and never stops doing stomach infrastructure to the indigenes and non-indigenes

Mr. CPS let me refersh your memories because the truth you are seeking will be the undoing of your paymaster. aside overbloating contract sums and peddling pseudo contracts process to smurf funds, what other projects are real and with reasonable financincing from your so called pepper-soup master?

Be advised, even before KOK was made Executive Chairman, his position as CPS to PBAT then as Governor facilitated the linked road to idimu that you are refring to!! If we then decide to look at the spread of projects and project counts of KOK, it will be obvious he is judicious and accountable than your guy who is fixated on reconstruction of roads and rehabilitation only because it is the near lucrative means of siphoning funds.

Let me also remind you and the reading audience that the road from Jakande gate to Ijegun was influenced by KOK during BRF tenure, we wrote the Bonds for the contractor and we knew the contributors. So please this race is not for politicians who have skeletons and cobwebs in their wardropes, the educational qualification, experience and integrity of KOK is extremely above the funny dude you are trying to sell.

The verdict of the analysis not only vindicate KOK but exposes those who thinks the public can be decieved and mesmerized by political tricks.

Makindele, Let me sdvise you and same time set you straight on how political support works. first the private lives of these men are no under assesment, it is their performances, official conduct while serviving and holding public offices are what is our concern. Your insinuations will be followed by a civil suit for defamation of character and you that allege must prove them.

inadvertently, you will drag yourself into an unending tussle over what is not your cross to carry. There is no better enlightenement to serve you than a lesson and set you as sample to others who cannot differentiate between politics and slander, if you choose not heed.

On the contrary, if you lack points on crticim and support agenda, remain silent or be civil, you will only make a nuisance of yourself and the person you are rooting for will deny you when the chips are down. Am sure you have your dirty and skeletons, we can throw as well into the open.

So Steven, choose your words carefully and think twice before you take this path.

you have been warned.

Kudus, Your ignorance is highly rated, which of the ministry in Nigeria is gold and mining? why dont you first educate yourself and upgrade your career because you cant write a petition that will pass the security gate.

if you have secrets to share, pls share, dont wait and hide to make your allegations public……be advised the fight for accountability of public officials cannot be subdued by cheap blackmails and low life online miscreants as you.

KOK wether he is fighting or not fighting does not need your advise or politiocal strategies, before you were born he is made and well grromed on matters of national and statecraft. So it is you and your cahorts of public looters that should fear accountability and the consequences.

You move, we stop you!! we move, you will run and hide.

Oga bamigbetan kok go and struggle to get your ticket from up and reduce your noise over what and what you have done.
Look the current Ejigbo LCDA chairman that don’t even have a voters card register in Ejigbo still he became the chairman.
The current MHR don’t even do any thing in Ejigbo before still he won.
So Mr bamigbetan aka Mr petition aka odobodogbo. Leave obe alone and face your future. It’s not only obe that is contesting for MHR. Some of the ladies you have sex within the Apc in Ejigbo complained that you are a dirty man sir.

Kehinde should have done it outside the APC party, outside Ejigbo self. can you see your self u don’t denied that fact kehinde bamigbetan sleep around with his small dick.

The low person here is you, first your decency and morality you are exposing in defense of another, 2. you are not going to be anything in life other than been used to do dirty talk and work, you think any reasonable leader would reason your matter ?

the important things in life to you is not more than all these uncouth comments you are making, it paints a picture of who you support and who you are as well.

what party are you talking about? is it APC that asked you to post this dirty talk or you are a lonely lunatic seeking attention?

Is this the level at which you people could stoop low? You tried all you could and now defaming and blackmailing is your option? Well, let me remind your good for nothing heads that, KOK’s name is written boldly on a Solid rock and can’t be erased, the reason why he’s presently in the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development.

You claimed KOK slept with women of the party and I laughed . Between me and you, we know that, Obe’s promiscuous is of high degree while KOK maintained his home affairs, did Obe did the same? Well, as a person I believe KOK isn’t perfect but he’s a responsible and meticulous being compared to Obe in that aspect you just mentioned. Moreso, as a celebrity every women of the Party will want to mingle with him. Even those of us that are not elevated as him do more than him in the Party but sincerely Obe is worst than a dog.

Responding to the moron that said KOK has created a secret Company on Gold and mining in other to siphon funds. This is a man that was a Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA and has no record of any Government agencies in charge of corruption that invite him for over a decade that he left office. Even when he was elevated to the post of Commissioner nothing of such happens when he left office. Obe left office and it’s not up to two months he has already got an invite from ICPC and EFCC. Tell me who owns Mosbeny Continental Resources if not Obe. We have every record of his atrocious activities but we decide to stay quiet but if you bring it on, you will definitely run without knowing who is chasing you .

The man that we TRUST and SUPPORT is KOK and by His Grace, he will be the next MHR of Oshodi Isolo Constituency ll. We have learnt how to eat our eba with a sour and spoiled soup since he turned to Judas and AROBAFIN 1 of Ejigbo LCDA.

You can put up a defence for him or a copy and paste message from bamigbetan.
All we know is that Bamigbetan time is over in Ejigbo, he’s a regular failure in MHR, his coming to mark is presence as usual. Bamigbetan is never the people’s choice from day one, he was impose on the people of Ejigbo as chairman, Watch out immediately he losses out from the race of MHR, because definitely is going no where, then he finished politically, by 2028 he will put his sick house on sales. And sale all his push and start car, do you notice the way he speaks this days, like a faustrated human. Splitting splits over everyone why talking. Very local fellow, he hardly shave the cut his hair. This is comfirm by some of the Apc member he raped. The lady his coming out very soon to expose him. Still putting together all proves, He even fuck some of his fellowers wife’s and girlfriend. He knows, we knows, Ejigbo knows Bamigbetan for that sleeping with women. Is that the type of MHR we want.
Asiwaju is aware of all. Asiwaju can never present him. If not obe. Apc we losses again. All we are saying give us Obe.

OBE all can say is you have gone so low than I expected, and you arr surrounded with people that can’t really reason with you or comprehend a simple remark, how did we get to this, I am so ashamed of what you have become, Mr monsurudeen Oloyede, what is written there is just the writers opinion and all your guys have to do is become a bear parlour gist merchants. Hmmmm, can we stop talking dirty and talk about governance? The writer was fair enough to score you high in all of his benchmarks, which is even debatable because funds and the status of things changed over time, and governance is continuity… why can’t you bunch think hard, why the attack on the persone of KOK and not the blogger if you feel aggrieved? Before your dogs start barking again wear them a C-caution already I won’t sit and start to tell them that you got entangled and married the lady that was sacked because of fraud from the council, I will tell the world bigger atrocities you did while in Ejigbo council… its better our argument is focused on governance and not what we did with our private lives. Anyways we the public are waiting for the court induction of the rape case one of your dogs wrote about.

Yours sincerely
Mudafukas

Monsuru is not a thorough bred, he is just fortunate to get to position and mentored by KOK, from the start he is thug and semi-illetrate, his promiscuity is record breaking and the entire ejigbo is aware of his loose life and kleptomania!!

setting his dogs loose shows his desperation and defeat, Obe cannot represent himself without pissing in his pants anywhere, hes incoherent, unhealthy looking and full of bile for his benefactors. is that a man we should reckon with?

those arround him are using him and he has no instinct or good sense to decipher and interpret politicakl indices, the loot he did is giving him confidence and he will be shocked beyond his wildest imagination.

they will drain him dry and to the skeleton, KOK will always be ahead of him in life, politics and achievement.

With all these comments I am reading here. It’s a saddened reality that everyone here is justifying there self acclaimed loyalty. When we are supposed to be thinking and debating on making Ejigbo a greater place. The blogger was definitely sponsor to cause issues among us. Comparison bring Strife and Envy . Where there strife and envy there can never be unity, without unity there wouldn’t be development. Who among you even know if KOK OR OBE will witness the next Election come 2027. It just so pathetic how shallow minded people can be.

My response to the CivicWire.ng article is clear and firm: the facts within the article itself prove that Hon. Monsurudeen Oloyede Bello (OBE) is the superior and more suitable choice for the 2027 House of Representatives seat in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II.

By CivicWire’s own assessment, OBE outperformed his counterpart in key governance areas, scoring highest in infrastructure delivery, social welfare, visibility, IGR growth, and promise fulfillment. His record includes over 100km of roads, schools, health centres, youth empowerment programs, union support, and institutional modernization—projects that are visible, functional, and still impacting lives today.

OBE’s strength lies not in rhetoric but in tangible development, grassroots connection, and proven leadership under challenging economic conditions. His acceptance cuts across communities, markets, religious bodies, youths, and professionals—demonstrating the kind of organic support that wins elections and sustains representation.

While acknowledging past contributions of others, federal representation demands current relevance, fresh energy, and a tested capacity to deliver, all of which OBE clearly represents.

Conclusion:
OBE is not a talker; he is a performer. He does not promise development; he delivers it. For 2027, Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II needs a transformer with proven results—and that man is Hon. Monsurudeen Oloyede Bello (OBE).
