Correction: Hon. Aare Taoheed Taiwo’s 2026 Budget Details – Celebrating Accountability on His Birthday
January 9, 2026
Dear Readers,
In our ongoing celebration of Hon. Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo (TAT), the Executive Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, on his birthday today, we wanted to highlight one of his key achievements: the presentation of the 2026 Appropriation Bill. However, we must first address an error in our previous publications.
In earlier posts, including those marking his birthday and discussing his impactful tenure, we inadvertently reported the proposed 2026 budget as ₦6.67 billion. This was incorrect. The accurate figure, as presented by Hon. Taiwo to the 6th Legislative Arm, is ₦12,905,971,987.45 (approximately ₦12.9 billion). We sincerely apologize for this oversight and any confusion it may have caused. Our commitment is to provide accurate, reliable information, and we regret the mistake.
Now, as we correct the record, let’s celebrate this milestone in the spirit of Hon. Taiwo’s “Budget of Renewed Hope and Accountability.” This robust fiscal plan exemplifies his visionary leadership and dedication to Ejigbo’s progress—truly a gift to the community on his special day!
The Correct 2026 Budget Breakdown
Themed “Budget of Renewed Hope and Accountability”, the ₦12.9 billion proposal is a comprehensive blueprint for sustainable development, aligned with the administration’s SHIELD Agenda (Security, Healthcare, Infrastructure, Education and Youth Development, Environmental Sustainability, Local Economic Empowerment, and Digital Governance).
- Total Projection: ₦12,905,971,987.45 – A strategic increase to fund ambitious projects while ensuring fiscal prudence.
- Key Priorities:
- Security: Investments in solar lighting, community intelligence, and security partnerships for a safer Ejigbo.
- Healthcare: Upgrades to Primary Health Centres, free services for vulnerable groups, and expanded immunization programs.
- Infrastructure & Other Pillars: Focused spending on roads, education, environment, economic empowerment, and digital tools to drive inclusive growth.
Hon. Taiwo’s words during the presentation ring true: “The 2026 fiscal year represents a consolidation and advancement phase, designed to deepen service delivery, strengthen institutions, and ensure prudent management of public resources.” This budget builds on his early successes, like mega empowerment events and health missions, promising even more for Ejigbo.
Once again, we apologize for the error in our prior reporting. Thank you for your understanding, and happy birthday to Hon. Taiwo—may this corrected spotlight add to the joy of your day!
