Shockwaves in Alimosho as Chairman Akinpelu Johnson Unveils APC Welfare Committee, Drops N2 Million Lifeline for Party Members

The Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, has sparked major excitement across the political circle with the inauguration of a new APC Welfare Committee dedicated to uplifting party members at the grassroots.

The inauguration ceremony, held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, in the Council’s Conference Room, drew applause from party stakeholders who described the move as timely and strategic.

Hon. Akinpelu used the occasion to announce a N2 million welfare donation, a fund he said is specially created to support loyal APC members facing urgent personal or financial challenges.

He explained that the fund would help members with essential needs—including house rent, health-related concerns, and other welfare issues—ensuring no committed member feels abandoned.

In what many have termed a groundbreaking gesture, the Chairman further revealed that the welfare initiative would be sustained on a regular basis, not just a one-time intervention.

The newly inaugurated committee is chaired by Pastor Abiodun Ibrahim, with Hon. Azeez Adediran serving as Secretary. Other appointed members include Hon. Mrs. Ogunwande, Hon. R.O. Olanrewaju, and Pastor Olaosebikan.

Hon. Akinpelu charged the committee to operate with transparency, fairness, and diligence, reminding them that the trust placed in them must reflect in every decision made.

He stressed that the welfare fund must be disbursed strictly to deserving members, ensuring the process strengthens unity rather than creating division within the party.

Speaking further, the Chairman stated that the initiative demonstrates his administration’s strong belief in grassroots empowerment, acknowledging that the strength of any political party lies in the well-being of its members.

With this bold step, political observers say Alimosho has set a new standard in party administration, proving once again why the council remains a force within Lagos State politics.
