Jude Chukwuemeka Omobowale Idimogu
Jude Chukwuemeka Omobowale Idimogu is a distinguished Nigerian politician, chartered accountant, and community leader known for his groundbreaking representation of the Igbo community in Lagos politics. As a former two-term member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, he has made significant contributions to wealth creation, employment, and inter-ethnic harmony in Nigeria.
Early Life and Education
Born on December 23 in Lagos State, Nigeria, Idimogu faced early hardship when he became an orphan at the age of 10. Despite this, he pursued education with determination, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in May 2000 and becoming a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). His academic and professional background laid the foundation for a career in finance and public service.
Political Career
Idimogu entered politics under the All Progressives Congress (APC) and made history as the first and only Igbo man elected to the Lagos State House of Assembly. He served two terms representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, where he chaired the House Committee on Wealth Creation and Employment. In this role, he focused on job creation, economic empowerment, and community development initiatives. He is also recognized as the Eze Ndigbo of Oshodi-Isolo, promoting cultural unity and advocating for the Igbo community in Lagos.
In August 2025, Idimogu publicly called for clemency for Nnamdi Kanu, emphasizing national reconciliation. He has been vocal about teachers’ roles in nation-building and has eulogized leaders like Lagos Speaker Mudashiru Obasa on milestones.
