Ejigbo LCDA Hosts Stakeholder Forum for 2026 “Budget of Renewed Hope and Accountability”

Ejigbo, Lagos – December 15, 2025 – In a bid to foster inclusive governance, the Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) recently held a stakeholder consultative forum to shape its 2026 budget, themed “Budget of Renewed Hope and Accountability.” The event, presided over by Executive Chairman Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo (TAT), aimed to incorporate residents’ input into fiscal planning, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s national Renewed Hope Agenda.

During the forum, Chairman Taiwo emphasized the importance of community feedback in addressing local needs. He pledged to prioritize infrastructure improvements to enhance residents’ quality of life, while committing to transparent governance and responsible spending. “This forum is crucial for capturing the needs of our residents and ensuring our budget reflects their priorities,” Taiwo stated.

The budget aligns with the local “Shield Agenda,” a framework outlining key development pillars:

• S: Security and safety through enhanced community policing and collaboration with law enforcement.
• H: Healthcare expansion, including better access to medical facilities.
• I: Infrastructural renewal, such as road upgrades, drainage systems, and market improvements.
• E: Education and youth development, providing quality education and skills programs for youths and women.
• L: Local economy support via entrepreneurship and enterprise initiatives.
• D: Digital economy and civic participation, including the establishment of a digital center for skills development.

EJIGBO LCDA PLEDGES RENEWED HOPE AND ACCOUNTABILITY IN 2026 BUDGET

Stakeholders at the forum raised concerns about healthcare quality, amenities, education for underprivileged students, and road conditions. They expressed optimism that these issues would be addressed in the upcoming budget. Taiwo highlighted the need for improved internally generated revenue to fund these initiatives, promising a gradual, sustainable approach with strong accountability measures.

This consultative process follows a budget retreat held from November 20 to 23, 2025, at AM 2 PM Hotels and Suites in Ijebu-Ode, where council leaders, including Vice Chairman Hon. Mrs. Abimbola Nicholas Ike, councillors, and community representatives, discussed priorities like infrastructure, healthcare, education, sanitation, security, and youth empowerment.

The 2026 budget preparation underscores TAT’s commitment since assuming office in July 2025, marking a new era of people-centered development in Ejigbo LCDA.
