INEC Ends First Quarter CVR, Announces Voters’ Register Display as Over 9.8 Million Nigerians Pre-Register
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) wishes to inform Nigerians that the first quarter of the ongoing nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise which began with online pre-registration on 18th August 2025 and in-person registration on 25th August 2025 across the 774 LGAs, State Offices and the FCT will come to an official close on Tuesday, 10th December 2025.
In accordance with Section 19 of the Electoral Act 2022, INEC will commence the Display of the Register of Voters for Claims and Objections from 15th to 21st December 2025. The display will take place at the Local Government Offices where the CVR was conducted.
The Commission urges all eligible citizens especially those who registered, transferred, or updated their details during this quarter to visit the display centres to:
• Verify their personal information
• Report any inaccurate details
• Draw attention to ineligible or deceased persons on the register

Public participation in this statutory process remains crucial to maintaining the integrity of Nigeria’s Voters’ Register.
As part of its weekly update, the Commission reports that at the end of the 13th week, a total of 9,891,801 online pre-registrations have been recorded nationwide. Out of these, 2,572,054 registrations have been fully completed, comprising 1,503,832 online completions and 1,068,222 physical registrations as of 28th November 2025.
INEC also reminds the public that the CVR exercise in Anambra State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) remains suspended due to ongoing electoral activities in both locations. New resumption dates will be communicated in due course.
In line with the previously published CVR timeline, the second phase of the exercise will resume on 5th January 2026.
INEC reiterates its commitment to sustaining a credible, inclusive, and transparent Register of Voters and appreciates the continued cooperation of Nigerians in strengthening our democratic process.
